WHW Internship
When: Wild Herb Weekend 2020: July 24-26
Where: The Valle Crucis Conference Center in Valle Crucis, NC
Every year the North Carolina Herb Association sponsors student interns to help with the annual “Wild Herb Weekend” conference, held just outside Boone, NC. Interns receive full tuition in exchange for designated work assignments. The setting is a historic conference center on a hillside overlooking the valley. The conference consists of herbalists, enthusiasts, growers, and practitioners gathering to learn and share a wealth of knowledge.
How to apply: Submit a 500-word essay (roughly 1 to 1.5 pages) describing why you would like to be an intern, your interest in herbs, and any experience you might have growing and using herbs (culinary, medicinal, marketing, teaching, manufacturing, etc). If you are interested in or pursuing a career as an herbalist or horticulturalist, tell us how the internship will benefit your education.
Submit Application Essays to: whw@ncherbassociation.org
Deadline for submitting entries: May 15, 2020
Recipients will be notified via e-mail by May 30, 2020.
Who can apply: NCHA prefers that applicants be enrolled in an herbal studies or horticultural science program, however the application process is open to all who wish to apply. Preference will be given to residents of North Carolina. Travel at the center is on foot, so good mobility is a must, as interns will be walking up hillsides and climbing stairs throughout the weekend.
